Victorian Era inspired wedding gown
Today we are going to Barcelona, for a romantic stroll on the heights of Montjuïc, where time seems to be suspended. From the lovely wedding dress signed Valeria Osma to the aerial bouquet inspired by English gardens, this Vintage Chic Bridal inspiration captured by photographer Olya Kobruseva hooked me from the start. A romantic vintage bridal portrait that looks straight out of a Victorian era novel that I'm happy to share with you on the blog.

From the team: Young and tender like the sunrise on one hand, with a strong and independent character on another, this bride resembles a heroine of an old British novel. The simplicity of decorations has been an intentional choice in order to re-focus the attention on her feelings. The location we chose for this shooting is Montjuic Mountain. Montjuic is located in the heart of Barcelona and is the cradle of history and culture surrounded by majestic parks. Soft shadows falling from the trees create some perfect natural light. Old walls and fountains make one travel back in time. Thus, it was a natural choice for this intimate shooting.

From Olga, photographer: I am a true lover of light and film. Capturing the magic and the beauty of light in elegant photographs is what makes my heart beat faster. Shooting with a low winter light has been a challenge, but when you master it, the joy brought by the beauty of the exquisite shades on a film is beyond words. I fell in love right away with the provocative simplicity of the dress and the serene grandeur of the shooting location. I am happy to be able to witness and capture the beginning of a beautiful story that is about to unfold.

When Vintage meets modern elegance
From Valeria, dress designer:This gown has been inspired by Victorian-era designs. The dress accentuates elegance and romance coupled with modern sensuality. The cherry on the top here is a vintage lace on the puffed sleeves that I found and fell in love with on a flea market. This lace helped bring out that special character in this dress.

Wedding bouquet inspired from English Gardens
From Sandrine, Design Floral: The Victorian design of this dress and the location of the shooting have been the main sources of inspiration for the flower arrangement. We wanted the bouquet to create the feel of an English garden, that is soigne but also effuse. We also wanted to bring out the vintage feel; however, with a touch of modern. To accomplish this, we chose flowers with a high petal count, such as lisianthus and the cappuccino garden rose. Our choice was romantic peach tones with muddier shades that reference the walls of Montjuic. To top off the bouquet, we chose to add floating Clematis in a cooler lavender tone. This vine-like flower emphasized that garden feel and added a bold pop of color.

From Katya, makeup artist: In this bridal makeup, I wanted to emphasize the eyes and to create a deeper and more intense look. The accent was on the inner world of the bride, her feelings and emotions. A light, girlish blush highlighted and brought freshness to the porcelain skin. I used some pink gloss for plump-looking and moisturized lips. I have created some light natural-looking hair waves and just pulled them back, to reveal the neck. This hair design finished off the romantic and modern look and highlighted the beautiful neckline of the dress.
