The wedding told by Peony Moments:
The stunning bride Herta from Albania and Mark from the Netherlands live in the United States but have a common passion … They love to travel and have visited over 125 countries so far. That being said, there was no other option than doing a destination wedding. They picked France as it is their favorite country and wanted French food, wine, architecture, traditions, and culture to be in the center of their wedding; while incorporating a travel theme throughout the day. After several delays due to covid, the wedding finally happened on Sept 7th, 2021. It was an intimate wedding at Chateau de Varennes and all the guests stayed at the property, which made it a lovely experience. Herta wanted a modern design, a light pink, cream, and white color palette with net and straight lines. Elodie from Lilas Wood made a gorgeous floral cloud on the Chapel’s chandelier hanging from the ceiling, she arranged the bar and every detail with beautiful and delicate flowers.

A travel-themed wedding
The bride had a very clear idea of what she wanted for her stationery and Claire from CMO Studio designed her dreamed day-of stationery including a customized passport and plane ticket for flat lays, a welcome sign, menus, and cocktail menus for the party. The bride and her bridesmaids got ready in the Pink lounge of the château while the groom and his crew were enjoying some champagne in the Grey lounge. After a brief emotional first look, Mark joined the rest of the guests in the chapel waiting for his bride to do the grand entrance escorted by her dad. The ceremony was officiated by a close friend of the couple, which made it very personal. A dream for the couple was to open the cocktail hour with a Champagne tower. Herta, the bride, changed her whole look to do a getaway photo session during the golden hour.

To make this day even dreamier and more romantic they had a 3-course dinner under a tunnel of fairy lights while listening to a few speeches from the guests, blessing their union. After cutting the cake surrounded by their friends and family holding sparkers, they partied late after diner and enjoyed « His » (Gulfstream: gin/sparkling water/splash of lemon) and « Hers » (The pilot: vodka/cranberry ) favorite cocktails ! Cherry on top, the weather turned out beautiful, even though the previous days had been the most rain the area had seen in years! This wedding was meant to be.
